CEO Baton Passed on at Koenig & Bauer
2021 started with the CEO of Koenig & Bauer, Claus Bolza-Schünemann, handing over the baton to Dr Andreas Plesske, board member responsible for Koenig & Bauer’s Special segment, which includes Banknote Solutions.
Mr Bolza-Schünemann, great-great-great grandson of the founder, has been with the company for 32 years, the last nine of those as its CEO. He was thanked by the Board for his long-standing and successful work. Although he is retiring, he will remain as an ambassador for the company, and will also preside over the DRUPA printing trade fair, which he helped shape and develop.
With its decision to replace him with Dr Plesske, the supervisory board has opted for continuity. According to the board, Dr Plesske has made a decisive contribution to the company's successful growth trajectory. He was instrumental in the implementation of the restructuring program Fit@All in 2014/2015 and was appointed as a member of the supervisory board, before assuming the position of Director and board member for the Special segment.
He is expected to lend a similarly significant impetus to the company's strategic alignment and to increasing the operating profitability and performance of the Koenig & Bauer Group.
