New Dates for MDC

The MDC has announced the new dates and locations for the Mint Directors Conference.

This was originally meant to take place in April last year in Cape Town, hosted by the South African Mint. It was already postponed, to this Autumn, but as a result of the continuing uncertainty around the containment and management of the COVID pandemic, will now not take place until October 2023. The location has changed as well, to Canada, and it will be hosted by the Royal Canadian Mint. It will return to Cape Town and to the South African Mint in November 2024.

In the interim period, ie. over the next two years, and subject to the support of the membership, the MDC plans to:

  • Conduct a virtual MDC Conference in May 2022

  • Continue to conduct quarterly webinars

  • Produce the monthly Mint Industry Communique

  • Conduct research – the topic to be confirmed by the end of July 2021

  • Strongly advocate for cash as well as for both collecting and numismatics and bullion investment.
