The EMEA Cash Cycle Seminar (ICCOS) – Istanbul
Following on from the successful trio of Banknote Conference, Currency Conference and Digital Currency Conference in February, Currency Research (CR) is preparing for their next in-person event, the EMEA Cash Cycle Seminar. This year’s event – from 31 May-2 June in Istanbul – will include a record 40 speakers.
The Cash Cycle Seminars are focused on peer-to-peer education and networking between commercial banks, central banks and CIT/CMC companies, predominantly examining cash trends, process efficiency and optimisations, and cash cycle sustainability.
The event commences with a Central Bank Summit hosted by the Central Bank of Turkey, which will draw together an anticipated 15+ central banks from across the region to discuss several key topics and understand the different central bank perspectives on them – The Role of Central Bank Money In The Economy, The Role of Commercial Entities in Providing Cash Services, The Role Of Cash As a Fallback. The session will conclude with a review of the key highlights from the Banknote & Currency Conference for those in attendance unable to travel to Washington DC in February.
The main conference agenda starts off with a session focused on cash trends, with the Central Bank of Turkey outlining cash from a European perspective and further central bank presentations highlighting trends in Africa and the Middle East, before CR provides a high-level global overview of advances in digital currency and Bantas take a delve into the Future of Cash in Transit.
Following this session will be a panel discussion moderated by CR involving BDGW, Bantas and Garanti BBVA, discussing further the topic of the Future of Cash In Transit.
A series of presentations will then be given by Raiffeisen Bank International, Stanbic Bank, Arute Solutions and G+D Currency Technology focusing on Automation in Deposit, Processing & Circulation, examining challenges in depositing cash and difficulties encountered when attempting to go cashless.
The ECB will provide a keynote speech on broader European Trends and The Future of Cash with regards to its Cash 2030 Strategy, before a discussion led by Enryo involving Link, Sonect, OneBanks and BILESIM will examine how alternative cash systems can help protect access to cash.
Sustainability in Cash Production and Distribution is a key global topic and the Central Bank of Egypt, Turkey’s Banknote Printing Works and Garanti BBVA will be sharing their latest work in this area.
The conference will conclude with a session lead by Enyro and involving the central banks of Israel and Turkey, continuing a discussion on ‘Is Cash a Reliable Contingency? Regulatory and Legislative Considerations’.
Through the course of the main two days a number of innovation session presentations will be provided by the event sponsors, including G+D Currency Technology, Bantas, Sargent & Greenleaf, Feerica, Aga Bullion, Landqart, Loomis, CPS and more.
