Benjamin Diokno, Governor of the Bankgo Sentral ng Pilipinas, will join the incoming government as Finance Minister. His replacement will be Felipe Medalla.
Taleh Kazimov has been appointed as Governor of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan, following the government’s dismissal of his predecessor Elman Rustamov.
Aleš Michl, a member of the Czech National Bank’s board, has been named as the next Governor. He will serve a six-year term, succeeding Jiří Rusnok on 1 July.
Reza Baqir has stepped down as governor of the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP). Dr Murtaza Syed, the most senior Deputy Governor, will take over his role pending the appointment of a permanent replacement.
Róger Madrigal López has been named the next Governor of the Central Bank of Costa Rica by the incoming government, replacing Rodrigo Cubero, who has been in the position since 2018.
The Governor of the Central Bank of West African States (BCEAO), Tiémoko Meyliet Koné, has been appointed Vice President of Côte d’Ivoire. It is not yet known who his successor at the BCEAO will be.
Following the resignation of the Governor of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka, Ajith Nivard Cabraal, after less than a year in the role amid a worsening economic crisis in the country, his successor has been named as former Senior Deputy Governor P Nandalal Weerasinghe.
The Governor of the Bank of Algeria, Rosthom Fadli, has been dismissed and replaced with Salah Eddine Taleb, making him the sixth governor in as many years.
The Central Bank of Mauritania has appointed the country’s Finance Minister, Mohamed Lemine Ould Dhehbi, as Governor. He succeeds Kébir Ould Moulay Taher, who has become Minister of Digitalisation.
Abbas Umar Masanawa, who is seeking political office, has resigned as Managing Director of the Nigerian Security Printing and Minting Company.
Canadian Bank Note Company has announced the appointment of Craig Bascombe as Chief Executive Officer. He succeeds Ron Arends, who died last October. Since joining CBN in 1994, Craig has worked in a variety of executive positions, most recently as Chief Financial Officer and President of the company’s lottery division.
Brinks has appointed Daniel Castillo as Executive Vice President of the company and President of its North American operations. Castillo will join Brink’s in early June from JELD-WEN, one of the world’s largest building products manufacturers. He takes over the position from Mark Eubanks, who has been appointed President and CEO. His predecessor, Doug Pertz, has been appointed as Executive Chairman of the Board.
SURYS, part of the IN Groupe, has recently welcomed Nicolas Normand to the position of Director of Strategic Partnerships – Banknote. Formerly with Portals, and before that with Arjowiggins Security, Nicolas will be responsible for international business development on behalf of the company’s banknote business line.
