HSP Latin America Heads to the Caribbean

All arrangements are now in place for this year’s High Security Printing (HSP) Latin America, which takes place in Nassau, the Bahamas from 5-7 June. Attendance is likely to be a capacity for the three day event, which includes two pre-conference seminars and two days of plenary sessions split into two tracks covering currency and identification.

The pre-conference seminar relating to cash is being provided by Regula on the topic of ‘Fighting Counterfeiting and Adulteration of Documents and Banknotes’, providing an introduction to forensic science in counterfeit document analysis, criminalistics and the classification of research items relating secure documents and banknotes.

The welcome address will be given by Derek Rolle, Vice Governor of the Central Bank of the Bahamas, followed by Brett Lashley, also of the Bank, with a presentation on ‘Highlights of the Currency Programme and Changes Across the Most Recent Family of Banknotes.

There will be four sessions dedicated to banknotes – Regional Developments, Production and Print, Substrates and Features, and Sustainability and the Environment, with presentations from central banks, printers and suppliers.

The agenda will conclude with a session on technology and Innovation covering the whole spectrum of banknotes and secure documents.

As is customary, the HSP Regional Banknote and ID Document of the Year awards will be announced and presented at the conference dinner on 6 June, which takes place in the gardens of the Grand Hyatt Baha Mar.

And in a break from tradition, the conference will conclude not with the usual HSP Football Match, but the HSP Beach Volleyball Match instead. All delegates are welcome to join in – as players or supporters.
