  • Ibrahim Stevens has become Governor of the Bank of Sierra Leone. He has been First Deputy Governor since July 2014, and succeeds Kelfala Kallon.

  • Cornelius Dekop has been appointed Governor of the Bank of Botswana. He succeeds Moses Pelaelo, who has served as Governor since 2016.

  • Honey Mamabolo has stepped down from the South African Mint, following three and half years as its Managing Director. Her replacement is Lisiwe Mda, previously Managing Director of the South African Bank Note Company.

  • KURZ’s Business Area Security (BAS) has announced the appointment of Gerben van Wijk as Head of the Banknote Security Team, with responsibility for sales and marketing, and global and technology strategy. He was formerly Sales and Marketing Director for Luminescence Sun Chemical Security.

He replaces Peter Mühlfelder, who will assume the role of Executive Senior Vice President for BAS, which includes the ID document business of OVD Kinegram, the card business and SCRIBOS.

Peter in turn is replacing Werner Adel, who will retire from his position end of January 2024 after 40 years tenure with the company.

  • Giesecke+Devrient (G+D) has announced the implementation of a scheduled generation change in its owner family, along with its Supervisory and Management Boards. Verena von Mitschke-Collande will hand over her functions on the two boards to her son Marian von Mitschke-Collande next April. Jan Thyen has been appointed to succeed Dr Peter Zattler as Group CFO when the latter retires next May. Also effective next April, Gabriel von Mitschke-Collande will become Group Chief Digital Officer (CDO) to the Management Board.
