New Board and ICA Focus for 2024

The International Currency Association (ICA), representing the global currency sector, held its Annual General Meeting in Bilbao, Spain during the Intergraf Currency+Identity conference, and elected the Board for the next two years.

The Board members are Eric Boissonnas of Koenig & Bauer Banknote Solutions, Etienne Couëlle of Oberthur Fiduciaire, Ruth Euling of De La Rue, Sam Keayes of Crane Currency, Dieter Merkle of Schuler, Malcolm McDowell of Note Printing Australia, Roberto Salgari of Parvis, Gianni Santoro of SICPA, and Wolfram Seidemann of Giesecke+Devrient.

Following their election, the members appointed Gianni Santoro, Ruth Euling and Sam Keayes to the roles of Chair, Vice- Chair and Treasurer respectively.

‘We are delighted to have been re-elected as Chair and Vice Chair of the ICA and thank the members for their trust’, said Gianni and Ruth. ‘In the year ahead we will work hard to continue to advocate for the value cash brings to our society and to develop an ever better experience for our partners and customers at the GCF in 2024.’

According to the ICA, the meeting was an opportunity to reflect on the important decisions taken by the association over the past year and the projects ahead.

After the first-ever edition of the Global Currency Forum (GCF) in 2022, the association will hold the second GCF from 30 September-3 October 2024 in Muscat, Oman with the theme ‘The Value that Cash Brings to Society’.
