SDG Award for Oberthur
In 2022, Global Compact Réseau France launched the SDG Awards, designed to reward companies in all sectors that contribute to the concrete implementation of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and are committed to initiatives that advance the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
The French SDG Awards ceremony took place on 25 September in Paris, and Oberthur Fiduciaire was one of the two finalists in Category 3 – ‘Sustainable Innovation’.
According to the company, its sustainable innovation approach of cotton paper banknotes, mixed with bio-sourced latex and sisal fibres, has been recognised because it takes into account the entire life cycle of its products (from alternative raw materials to the reuse of products at end-of-life) by integrating the 10 principles of the Global Compact.
In addition, the entire group is assessed each year according to the ISO 26000 standard, supported by the Ethics Committee (which assists it in its quest to be a leader not only in sustainability, but also in ethical practices). In addition, all the group’s sites have been ISO 37001 certified since 2018.
