Exceptionally Successful Year for Orell Füssli
Orell Füssli has just released its 2025 annual report, which shows revenue up by 8% to CHF 272.8 million, operating profit up by 17.7% to CHF 41.3 million and net profit up by 31% to CHF 23 million.
The Security Printing division recorded an outstanding year, with revenue increasing by 15.3% to reach CHF 99.7 million (33.4% of group sales). Operating profit (EBIT) increased by 65.4% to CHF 21.3 million, and the operating margin from 14.9% to 21.4%.
This performance was driven by very high-capacity utilisation, advantageous product mix, and new customer acquisitions. A diversified customer base has secured the order backlog for 2026, with initial orders for 2027 already planned. Responding to strong demand, the company increased its banknote printing capacity by around 15%.
During the year, the division also secured an international passport printing contract and continued to supply around 600,000 Swiss driving licences.
Through its subsidiary Procivis, Orell Füssli is placing a strong strategic focus on digital identity solutions. The company is targeting a high-growth market, with global demand for digital identity solutions expected to double to at least $99 billion over the next five years, according to Grand View Research.
