- The National Bank of Ukraine has released a modified 200 hyrvnia (UAH) banknote. While the 2019 design and security features remain, the revised notes carry the slogan: ‘Glory to Ukraine! Glory to the Heroes!’.
The change forms part of an ongoing rollout of more patriotic notes that began with the UAH 20 in August 2024, coinciding with the 33rd anniversary of Ukraine’s independence from the Soviet Union.
Since then, the UAH 50, 500, and 1,000 banknotes have also been reissued. All the new notes will circulate alongside their previous versions, which remain legal tender.
- The Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA) has issued new 20 and 100 rufiyaa banknotes. The new notes form part of the all-polymer Ran Dhihafaheh (‘Golden Fifty’) series that was initially launched in 2015, themed around the nation and its people.
A key design change is the introduction of the Maldivian rufiyaa symbol on both sides of the notes, appearing alongside the face value at the top left on the front and the top right on the reverse. As per other notes in the series, security features include the serial number and select elements from the front of the notes only appearing under UV light.
