ANDRITZ Schuler Consolidates Production

ANDRITZ Schuler – the leading manufacturer of equipment for coin and medal production – has announced that, due to persistently challenging economic conditions, it is closing production at the site of its subsidiary ANDRITZ Gräbener in Netphen; Germany. In future, these products will be manufactured together with ANDRITZ Schuler’s systems at its headquarters in Göppingen, Germany.

ANDRITZ Schuler, founded in 1839, is a global leader in metal forming –supplying presses, automation solutions, dies, process technology and services for the entire metal-working industry and the light-weight construction of vehicles.

The minting technology division is a relatively small part of the business, but it was already delivering coin presses by the late 1800s. Nowadays, it manufactures customised systems for blank production, horizontal and vertical coin minting presses (including punching and joining presses for bimetallic, and even trimetallic, coins), stamping edge embossing and edge rolling machines. It also offers complete turnkey coin production and blanking lines. It acquired what was then Theodor Gräbener Pressensysteme GmbH & Co KG, specialists in knuckle-joint presses for coin and medal production, in 1989.
